Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty,74, will get the "Dadasaheb Phalke Award" during the 70th National Film Award Ceremony on October 8th, according to Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
In Kolkata, Mithun Chakraborty was born. In 1976, he made his feature film debut in "Mrigayaa," for which he was honoured with the National Film Award for Best Actor. Two more National Film Awards were given to him in recognition of his performances in Swami Vivekananda (1998) and Tahader Katha (1992).
His portrayal of the title character in the 1982 movie office hit "Disco Dancer" made him a household celebrity. He frequently serves as a judge in reality shows.
Mithun Chakraborty will get an award during the 70th National Film Awards Ceremony on October 8, according to a tweet by Ashwini Vaishnaw on X. The actor was also praised by the minister, who said that generations are inspired by his incredible cinematic journey.
