At the G7 Summit in Italy on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is anticipated to have talks with US President Joe Biden, according to National Security Advisor (NSA) Jake Sullivan.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One during the G7 Summit in Italy, Sullivan stated, "President Biden expects Prime Minister Modi to be present." Although we anticipate a meeting between the two leaders during the event, the Indian side has the last say in confirmation.
Sullivan said that while they were in Paris, Biden called Prime Minister Modi to congratulate him on winning the election and taking office for a third term.
Prime Minister Modi will travel to Italy on Thursday for his first international trip since taking office for the third time in a row, according to Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra.
India has received an invitation from Italy to take part as an Outreach Country in the 50th G7 Summit on June 14.
Giorgia Meloni, the prime minister of Italy, would meet with Modi, Kwatra said. He did, however, note that the specifics of his bilateral discussions with other leaders are still being worked out.
