The all-rounder played 74 Twenty20 Internationals for the Indian cricket squad after making his format debut in 2009. His final game was the T20 World Cup 2024 championship match versus South Africa.
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja of the Indian men's cricket team declared his retirement from T20 international cricket on Sunday. The ruling came after India's victory on Saturday in the T20 World Cup 2024.
India won the T20 World Cup title for the second time, defeating South Africa by seven runs in the Barbados final at Kensington Oval. Shortly after the triumph, captain Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli declared their retirement from the competition.
A few while later, Jadeja made the same announcement on social media.
I bid adieu to T20 internationals with a heart full of appreciation. I've always given my all for my nation and I will continue to do so in different formats, like a steady horse galloping with pride," Jadeja posted on Instagram.
"Being the winner of the T20 World Cup was the high point of my T20 International career and a dream come true. I am grateful for the moments shared, the encouragement, and the steadfast help. Jai hind," he continued.
