Manipur Police stated on X, "Movement of 194 and 216 vehicles along NH-37 and NH-2, respectively, with essential items have been ensured."

Strict security precautions are implemented in all susceptible areas, according to the police, and a security convoy is supplied in sensitive areas to guarantee the vehicles' safe and unhindered travel.

"An overall of 141 Nakas/Checkpoints were established in various Manipur districts, spanning both the hill and the valley, and law enforcement apprehended 250 individuals in relation to infractions in various districts within the State," the police post stated.

During the "Tribal Solidarity March," which the Kuki community organized in opposition to the Meitei community's desire for Scheduled Tribe (ST) designation, ethnic violence broke out in Manipur last year.

Tensions developed as a result between Meiteis in the Imphal Valley and indigenous people from the hill districts, such as the Nagas and Kukis.
Since then, there have been numerous violent incidents in the state. According to government data, as of September 15, up to 175 individuals had died in the violence.
