New Delhi: The building of the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya is proof of the collaborative work and monetary support from a wide variety of contributors. Donations from both domestic and foreign followers of Lord Rama have made the temple possible. According to reports, more than Rs 5,500 crore has been donated towards the Temple project so far. The building of the Ram temple was made possible by the kind gifts given by devotees.
Tell us about anyone who has generously donated to the building of the majestic Ram Temple in Ayodhya (the list of donation amounts below is based on reports received at the time the article was written).
1. The Ram Mandir Trust has received significant support from well-known Surat diamond merchants Dilip Kumar V Lakhi and his family. A family of diamond merchants has given the Rama Mandir 101 kilogrammes of gold. Based on the current overall valuation of gold in rupee terms, the Lakhi family's donation amounted to an astounding 68 crores.
2. Another significant donor to the construction of the Ram Temple was the spiritual master Morari Bapu, who gave Rs 11.3 crore.
3. Individual contributions from his followers in the US, Canada, and the UK added up to a total of Rs 8 crore. Thus, a total of Rs 18.6 crore has been donated.
4. The Patna Mahavir Mandir made a large donation of 10 crores towards the construction of the Ram Mandir.
5. Reports state that Mahesh Kabutarwala of Swiss Glascoat Equipments donated Rs 5 crore.
6. The Ambani family, who are the richest in Asia and India, are said to have donated Rs 2.51 crore to the Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
7. A payment of Rs 1 lakh is said to have been made to the Ram Temple by WS Habeeb, a Muslim businessman from Chennai.
8. The Matrushri Kankuba Foundation's Lavji Badshah reportedly donated one crore rupees.
