President Ram Nath Kovind has dropped his visit to the Kargil War Memorial in Drass attributable to terrible climate in Ladakh, authorities said. He will rather lay a wreath at the Baramulla War Memorial this year to recognize the fallen legends of the 1999 clash on the event of the 22nd Kargil Diwas, the military authorities added.

President Kovind, who showed up in Srinagar on Sunday, is on a four-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. "On July 26, 2021, the President will honor the unstoppable fortitude and penance of the Indian Armed Forces during the Kargil struggle in 1999 at the Kargil War Memorial Drass (Ladakh) on the 22nd commemoration of the Kargil Vijay Divas," read an assertion from the President's office.
In 2019, terrible climate had kept the president from visiting Drass to partake in the Kargil Vijay Diwas festivities. All things considered, he had paid his recognitions by laying a wreath at a conflict dedication at the Army's 15 Corps base camp in Badamibagh in Srinagar.
