Nusrat Jahan brings up Hathras horror to counter Yogi's hard Hindutva push in Bengal

To take on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BJP leader Yogi Adiyanath's hard Hindutva, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) seems to have unleashed its most popular 'secular' face: Nusrat Jahan.

To take on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BJP leader Yogi Adiyanath's hard Hindutva, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) seems to have unleashed its most popular 'secular' face: Nusrat Jahan.

On Tuesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) brought out its heavy arsenal to fire at the ruling TMC government in the campaign for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly election. The mercurial Hindutva strongman and immensely popular chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath addressed a rally in West Bengal's Malda district on Tuesday and accused the West Bengal government of being lenient towards cow smuggling and “love jihad“ due to appeasement politics in the state.

“Durga Puja gets prohibited in Bengal today, cow slaughter is forcefully started during Eid. People's sentiments are toyed with through cow smuggling. The state government remains silent. Now it's attempted to ban slogan of 'Jai Sri Ram' and attacks are executed,” Yogi Adityanath said.
